Advanced Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations. Digital Sound.

Research:

Modelling of water flow by numerical solution of systems of partial differential equations. Projects include simulating wave energy converters, predicting violent wave overtopping at sea walls and modelling scour at the base of offshore wind turbine mounts.  More details are here. Co-director of the Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Flow Analysis, member of the Dalton Research Institute,
member of the School Workloads Committee, member of the School Management Group.

Non-Academic Interests:

Walking, cycling, sailing, angling and Canadian canoeing. Bad guitar playing.  Travel: North America,Costa Rica, Kenya, Morocco, Egypt, India, Iceland and Europe. Member of  National Friends of the Earth, Cycle Touring Club, Angling Trust,Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
